Have you noticed your dreams becoming more vivid lately?
Perhaps they are more intense with vibrant colors and a great deal of action. You might also be dreaming for longer periods of time while you sleep. If this sounds like you-you are definitely not alone.
As the veils thin and new spiritual energies reach the planet our vibrational rates are increasing. Sometimes this manifests as more vivid dreams.
Dreaming occurs during the REM (rapid eye movement) cycle of sleep. The sleep cycle itself is divided up into REM and Non-REM (NREM).
The NREM portion of sleep is further divided into four stages. Stage 1 is the initial phase where you start to drift off. Stage 2 is a period of light sleep.
Stages 3 and 4 are for deep sleep, with 4 being the deepest. Once these four stages of NREM sleep are completed, then the REM period kicks in.
“These intense dreams are designed to get your attention.”
The sleep cycle actually repeats itself several times during those hours you spend in bed. It goes NREM 1-4, REM and then repeats NREM 1-4, REM, etc. So, in reality, you will have several sessions of REM or dream sleep.
Your first REM stage only lasts about 10 minutes, but as the night goes on each REM session grows longer. The last REM stage before you awake may last as long as one hour.
Intense and Vivid Dreams
Intense and vivid dreams usually get your attention. They can be filled with lots of emotion and action.
They may also be full of color and movement, sometimes appearing surreal. You might even be experiencing more lucid dreams where you are aware that you are dreaming.
Many people out there in the blogosphere are reporting more vivid dreams. Among the most common experiences are dreams of angelic beings, guides and suspected past lives. Some also report contact with aliens and extraterrestrials.
Still, others mention being involved in classroom or learning situations with spirit guides. Finally a few are experiencing prophetic dreams of the future.
Another interesting phenomenon is that people report remembering their dreams more than they did in the past. Some are also able to differentiate between dreams experienced early in the sleep cycle from those later on.
Generally, people recall their dreams from the last REM stage shortly before they wake up, but now they reference dreams from all hours of the night. Folks are commonly reporting that they feel as if they dream all night long.
What Does It Mean?
Obviously, dreams are very personal and their meaning is mainly relevant to the dreamer. But what does it mean when you have these vivid dreams?
Apparently, your subconscious is trying to tell you something. Your Higher Self also speaks to you through dreams. Such bold visions during your sleep are meant to both teach and activate you as a being.
These intense dreams are designed to get your attention. After all, if they weren’t bold and vivid, you would probably forget about them.
Even if you don’t recall these strange and intense dreams, that’s okay. The fact that you are having them indicates something is stirring deep within.
This phenomenon is happening to many of us. What it truly means in speculative, but there are some theories. As we move into the Age of Aquarius we are experiencing new spiritual energies of a higher frequency.
Our minds, bodies, and spirits are adjusting to these new vibrations and vivid dreams are just one possible indication. The veils are thinning and dreams serve as a bridge between our earthly lives and our new expanding consciousness.
So the next time you have one of those vivid dreams, remember that it’s a great spiritual wake up call!
